Pretend for a moment that you know nothing about Jesus Christ

HELLO, AND WELCOME TO ANOTHER SEGMENT OF LOVE IN ACTION SPONSORED BY THE MYLOVELINK REGISTERED TRADEMARK BRAND, I’M CWILTON AND LET’S DISCUSS…
“THE GREATNESS OF CHRIST EXPLAINED IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES” THAT’S….“THE GREATNESS OF CHRIST EXPLAINED IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES”
Pretend for a moment that you know nothing about Jesus Christ, and have heard nothing, and have read nothing from any church or ministry. You overhear me talking about Jesus, and you ask, “Who is this Jesus?”
Without saying a word, I hand you a piece of paper containing five verses of Scripture: Colossians 1:16-20.
“Read this,”
“Colossians 1:16-20
Amplified Bible
For by Him all things were created in heaven and on earth, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities; all things were created and exist through Him and for Him. And He Himself existed and is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is the controlling, cohesive force of the universe. He is also the head the life-source and leader of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will occupy the first place [He will stand supreme and be preeminent in everything. For it pleased the Father for all the fullness of deity—the sum total of His essence, all His perfection, powers, and attributes to dwell permanently in Him the Son, and through the intervention of the Son to reconcile all things to Himself, making peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven..”
As we study this one fragment of Scripture we learn quite a bit about Jesus.
these five verses condense some very big ideas and spiritual truths into a very compact but priceless treasure for us to unwrap, explore, and value more than all the wealth in the world.
Pay attention to the number of times the word “all” is used in connection with the description of Christ:
1) By Him all things were created.
2) All things were created through Him and for Him.
3) He is before all things.
4) In Him all things consist or are held together.
5) That in all things He may have the preeminence or supremacy.
6) That in Him all the fullness should dwell.
7) By Him to reconcile all things to Himself.
If you had nothing else but this fragment of five verses to support your understanding, what would be your impression of Jesus? Do you have a larger or a smaller idea of Him? Do you have any sense of limitation or restriction connected with Him, or would you get the sense that He is higher and deeper than anyone can appreciate?
This small portion of Scripture provides a remarkably complete picture of the infinite greatness of Christ, the plan and purpose of God to have His Son in the place of preeminence, and the tremendous energy of God at work through Christ to bring about a reconciliation and restoration of all things.
