Fights between men and women
Most societies have been set up to meet the needs of men before the needs of women because most of the world’s countries have been run by men. To solve the problem of women and the fights between men and women, we need to learn, understand, and value how women are made. It is important for everyone to know what a woman is like and how she relates to a man because she was made in God’s image.
This is not just important information for people who are married. Whether you are married, single, male, female, young, or old, you interact with women in your family, workplace, church, government, and almost every other part of your life. If you don’t understand how a woman is made, you won’t be able to deal with her in these areas of life in an honest and effective way.
Why you are the way you are
Of course, it’s also very important for a marriage to understand how a woman (and a man) was made. When we have a deeper understanding of what it means to be female and male, we are better equipped to engage in healthy relationships with other people, including the marriage partnership. If you aren’t married yet, and you learn who you are and why you are the way you are, as well as how the other sex is made and works, your marriage will be successful when you do get married. You won’t have to deal with nearly as many of the disagreements that come about because of people being ignorant of the function and importance of men and women.
Both men and women have needs that need to be learned. But because women have been so misunderstood and devalued over the years, this book is mostly about how they are made and what they need.
God’s Plan
No one knows better than the person who made something how it’s supposed to work. If I may suggest, I think that the greatest approach for us to achieve progress in the connection between men and women is to go back to the very beginning and examine what was in the mind and heart of the Creator when He made humanity. The only way to make lasting, positive changes in how men and women interact with each other in all parts of life is to understand how we were made and what makes us tick.
If we are serious about mending the rifts that have long existed between the sexes, I believe we must first return to God’s original intent for humanity. This idea is well summed up in Proverbs 19:21, which says, “A man’s heart has many plans, but the Lord’s plan wins out.” God is a purposeful God, and everything He made in this world, including men and women, has a reason for being here. We can choose to ignore His plan at our own peril, but that’s the path to emptiness and frustration. He shaped us in this particular way for His own good and our own enjoyment.
No one knows better than the person who made something how it should work
What something is depends on what it is used for (or design). Understanding the woman’s personality in light of her function requires an appreciation of her wants. If she doesn’t, she won’t be able to do the thing she was made to do. Finding out why we are here is the most important thing we can learn about ourselves and other people. Unfortunately, when the motivations of both partners are unknown, abuse is a natural result of the misunderstandings that arise between men and women.
Where does a woman belong, in the grand scheme of things? A woman’s ultimate worth is in God. It shows in how He made her, in how much He values her, and in what He wants to do with her. We won’t be able to settle the arguments and fights about the role of women in the world until we understand what this truth means.
Fixing the root
We have lost sight of what it means to be human as God made us, and that is at the root of so many of our problems, including the maltreatment of women. We no longer know why we are here. I believe this lack of understanding of life’s greater meaning affects men and women everywhere throughout the world. The best thing we can do is find and follow the original plan of the One who made us. Only then will we know what women and men are and what their rights are, so that both men and women can live in freedom and happiness.
