Acidic or Alkaline Personality
Many people believe that we have either an Acidic or Alkaline body PH level. It is quite possibly true, but I am beginning to wonder if this can affect our personalities as well.
In conventional medicine, it is often thought that an alkaline body PH level indicates better health, whilst an acidic PH level may give room for inflammatory diseases such as arthritis. Many non-conventional practitioners of medicine, such as homeopathy, believe that our body’s PH level can also affect our personality. I find this theory interesting, and I do wonder if it could be fairly accurate.
Acidic or Alkaline?
We are familiar with the expression “she has got an acidic tongue”. It is an expression which is commonly used when a person makes a sharp comment that hurts someone’s feelings. But why do some people more than others make “acidic” comments? Is it because they are not very nice people, or is it because they are in physical pain?
The Real Story
A friend of mine suffered a fall and injured her right leg badly. To manage her day-to-day life she was given strong pain killers. Pain killers can change our body’s PH and make it more acidic. After a couple of weeks, she started to become easily irritated, and she seemed to lose her temper quickly. A few more weeks went by, and on a return hospital visit the doctor prescribed antacid medication, and my friend was also advised not to drink acidic soft drinks or juices. At first, it seemed odd advice, but over the coming weeks I noticed my friend’s personality changed, and she seemed to feel better and was much more pleasant.
Personality Indicators
So, is there such a thing as an alkaline personality? If there is an acidic personality there could also be an alkaline personality, and it could depend on a person’s state of health. A person who suffers less from disease is often much happier and content. If you look at your group of friends, I am sure you will find one of those people. Perhaps it is not the person who goes to the gym every day, but perhaps the person who eats healthy and enjoys long walks.
The Verdict Is In
What is the final verdict on Acidic or Alkaline? The real story could be that if we try to stay healthy, avoid acidic foods such as fruit juice, cheese, red meat, and low-fat yogurt, we might, in fact, become happier.
You don’t need to have the perfect body to be happy…….try eating right.
