It’s Your Life
When you are a kid, grown-ups are constantly asking what you’re going to be when you grow up. I always hated that question because back then. I had no idea what I wanted to do or where I wanted to be. If I’m honest with myself, I still don’t! How many of us truly know what we want to be or know where we are going? At some point, you must live your life.
Life throws us so many curve balls and this quote always resurfaces each time I think about the ever changing direction my life is going. “Life happens when you’re busy making other plans”. How many of you readers have been so certain of a path that your life has taken, only to be thrown off course as life slaps you in the face? Have any of you ever had the feeling of being able to live your life while having complete control over your destiny?
Stop Comparing
I am torn between envy and bewilderment at my friends who seem to have everything figured out. You know the friend. They are the ones that get into their first choice school, have the dream job, the house the cars, and the fat bank account. Everything seems to come easily to them as the rest of us are just trying to eke out a living.
I asked one of my friends who have this type of life and he is happy with it? But, he also said that he had envied my life as well. Since his life had pretty much been planned out from birth, there was no room for any surprises. He had a set path of life and while he has been successful, he was envious that I had the freedom to go wherever I wanted with no particular direction. Is there any truth to the saying “the grass is always greener”?
God Has A Plan For You
I will admit that I am the girl that looks up at the sky and asks (sometimes screams) “What am I supposed to be doing with my life?!” I’ll be the first to admit that I have no idea what I will be doing tomorrow, and I have learned to be OK with that. Something that my mother always says to me is that God has a plan for us all and in time it will be revealed. It may not always be in the time-frame we want him to, but in time we will know.
You need to have confidence in the fact that whatever lies ahead for you on the path of life, that you will come out of it, in the end, being able to live your life. Learn to live every day to the fullest and be grateful for the gifts that you are given. Hold the friendships that you have made, and the people that you love in the highest regard. Life is precious and can be gone in the blink of an eye. Don’t worry about what other people are doing with their life; focus on making yours the best it can possibly be and just try and enjoy the roller-coaster of life! Live ‘YOUR’ Life!
