Getting enough sleep is critically important to your skin. In fact, your skin has its own circadian rhythm, and a balanced rhythm is key for healthy, vibrant skin. During rest, the skin is able to repair itself, thanks to the release of HGH. The release of HGH helps rebuild body tissues1 (like collagen) and spurs increased cell production to invigorate and rejuvenate the dermis.
So my interests are always piqued when I hear a dermatologist’s nighttime routine. And recently I received an email from holistic board-certified dermatologist Apple Bodemer, M.D. talking about how mindbodygreen’s dream mist fits into her evening rituals.

Bodemer has been working with us to offer medical reviews for many of our skin care stories—making sure we’re getting the facts straight, have the full picture, include relevant research, and the like. And so I was so pleased to hear she’s fallen for our linen spray, like so many in our community.
Here, why midbodygreen’s dream mist is the perfect way to get yourself ready for bedtime.
The pillow spray users say is “the best bedtime mists we have found”
Our soothing blend was formulated from science-backed ingredients with relaxing properties. It can be used to create an atmosphere that will lull your senses and get you in the headspace for rest. While this is not a sleep aid or treatment, it can be used as part of your nighttime routine to create an atmosphere that will lull your senses and get you in the headspace for rest—just like putting away your phone or dimming the lights. “The dream most really works. Couple sprays on my pillow and I’m off to dreamland,” writes one user, Kerry.
Bodemer says her whole family uses it as part of their nighttime rituals. “We are all big fans of aromatherapy, and this one is the best bedtime mists we have found—we have tried a lot of the ones on the market and made our own,” she tells me. “Spraying it on our pillows feels like nature is tucking us in. It is the perfect blend of relaxing botanicals, but not at all overly sweet. The best part is the ingredient list!”
Speaking of the latter: The basis is an organically grown lavender essential oil sourced from Bulgaria. This oil is a favorite in many households and loved for its tranquil floral scent. It’s then grounded and warmed with a sustainably harvested Australian sandalwood. Finally, it’s topped with air, earthy florals: Roman chamomile, and linden blossom. Both our Roman chamomile and linden blossom are wild-harvested in Europe.
The combination creates a sensorial experience that’s perfect for relaxation. “The scent was very soothing and provided a great atmosphere. I sprayed it on my bed each night before sleep and also loved spritzing it in my bathroom before a bath or shower. Overall, it has added a relaxing and peaceful element to my nighttime routine,” one user, Sasha, tells us.
And it’s not just before bed, either. Lots of folks have been using it in their shower rituals (like Sasha above) as well as meditation: “It’s become a part of my evening routine that I look forward to! It definitely helps me relax and set the tone for the meditation I do in bed before I go to sleep,” writes Hayley.
